1999
Aircraft interiorsdesign, and specifically VIP
interior design for private and corporate airplanes has been the
business priority of InterAMI Interior ever since it was established
as a subdivision of a multi-divisional corporation
InterAMI. The company provides the full range of services from
engineering design and development of aircraft interiors to product/technical
approval and support through manufacture, istallation, and certification
of aviation materials and procedures.
In 1999 InterAMI
Interior, ASTC Antonov, and Kharkov State Manufacturing Aircraft
Company (KSAMC) joined their efforts in creating a new interior
of the passenger cabin of AN-140
aircraft. At the same time InterAMI Interior created new interiors
for MI-2 and MI-8 helicopters. The new aircraft interiors did not
go unnoticed, and InterAMI Interior quickly became known as one
of the European leaders in aircraft interiors design and production.
2000
InterAMI
Interior continuously works on aircraft designs, completing the
design concepts of L-410,
Yak-42
and Yak-40
aircraft interiors, and also designs a VIP version of a railway
carriage and a new subway car interior. Later in 2000 InterAMI Interior,
working in close cooperation with KSAMC, started to work on the
new interior of a passenger cabin of AN-74TK-300, an advanced modification
of AN-74. Immediately after the official presentation at the international
air space shows, expositions and salons, this aircraft gained international
recognition and approval.
Later in 2000 InterAMI Interior created and adopted
a new quality assurance system for all stages of aircraft interiors
design, production and maintenance. The compliance
of the quality assurance system with international standard ISO
9001-94 was confirmed by TNO Certification.

In
June InterAMI took part in Le Bourget Air Show (France) and officially
presented two of its aircraft interior designs, VIP version of AN-74TK-200
and AN-74TK-300 with a new interior of a passenger cabin.
In August InterAMI Interior participated in Moscow Air
Space Salon (MAKS-2001). The attention of numerous visitors was drawn
to the wonderful new VIP interior of L-410 airplane, which was designed,
manufactured, and installed by company specialists. The experts in aviation
production and air transportation interiors design also highly appraised
the luxurious interior perfected down to the smallest detail and rewarded
it with an honorable exhibition medal. In Zhukovsky, a famous town in
Moscow suburbs where the air show took place, KSAMC exhibited AN-74TK-300
and AN-140 airplanes with new interiors, designed and manufactured by
InterAMI Interior.
2002
In
March KSAMC delivered the first An-140 serial aircraft fitted with the
interior made by InterAMI to Odessa Airlines. On April 29, 2002 InterAMI
Interior completed the design and production of VIP interior of Yak-40
aircraft. Currently the work on VIP interior of AN-74TK-300 aircraft is
nearing completion.
In April 2002 InterAMI Interior participated in Aircraft Interiors
Expo 2002 international exhibition. InterAMI Interior presented a stand
with a model of a passenger cabin of AN-74TK-300 aircraft interior designed
and manufactured by InterAMI team.
In summer InterAMI together with Kharkov State Aircraft Manufacturing
Company presented their exposition of aircraft interiors at Farnborough
International 2002 airspace salon that took place on July 22-28 in Farnborough,
UK. InterAMI presented the interior of the passenger cabin of An-140.
In view of the overall tendencies of decreasing the costs of transportation
the interest of European and American companies in the inexpensive yet
reliable and highly competitive aircraft manufactured by KSAMC seems very
well grounded. Russian airlines also showed a lot of interest in KSAMC
airplanes. On July 26, 2002 Aeroflot signed the agreement of intent according
to which KSAMC will manufacture and deliver 5 administrative airplanes
with the first delivery taking place 11 months from now.
In
August 2002 serial Kharkov State Aircraft Manufacturing Company started
the delivery of new serial An-140 aircraft to Ukrainian operators under
the government-approved leasing program. On August 3 the second serial
An-140 was delivered to its new owner, Kharkov air carrier Aeromost-Kharkov.
The most unique and distinctive feature of the second serial An-140 is
its striking exterior, the concept of which was suggested by InterAMI
designers: glowing orange Nike, the winged goddess of victory highly stylized
as Ukrainian folk art painting. On August 22 another An-140 aircraft with
bright orange Nike painted on the fuselage once again became the focus
of attention of aircraft manufacturing industry. The third serial aircraft
manufactured by Kharkov State Aircraft Manufacturing Company has become
the second aircraft in possession of Aeromost Kharkov airlines.
On
August 14-18, 2002 Domodedovo international airport hosted the first international
air show "Civil Aviation-2002". InterAMI Interior presented
the exhibition of two aircraft interiors, An-140 passenger cabin and Yak-40
VIP interior.
The autumn of 2002 was marked by numerous international expositions
and salons. KSAMC and InterAMI participated in all major world aircraft
exhibitions. At the III International Airspace Exhibition Aviasvit-XXI
held in Kiev on September 14-18, 2002, InterAMI and KSAMC presented their
exposition and the aircraft featuring An-74TK-200, An-74TK-300 and An-140.

and Defense 2002 exhibition and air show which took place at the Air Force
Base Waterkloof not far from Pretoria, South Africa. October 30 - November
4, 2002 - the first international Iran air show was held in Kish International
Airport on the beautiful Kish Island in Persian Gulf. Kharkov State Aircraft
Manufacturing Company presented the aircraft together with Iranian An-140
aircraft manufacturer, HESA Corporation. November 4-9, 2002 - InterAMI
and KSAMC presented their aircraft and indoors exposition at the China
International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition.
On
December 7-9, 2002 InterAMI and KSAMC presented the large exposition and
showcased their aircraft's performance and agility under extreme weather
conditions at SAKS-2002 (Siberian Airspace Salon in Krasnoyarsk). As a
result of the demonstration flights and active preliminary negotiations,
KSAMC has found new prospective customers. During the press conference
held on December 8, Ilyushin Finance Corporation, Krasnoyarsk-based Sibaviatrans
(SIAT) and KSAMC signed an agreement for three An-140s that would be leased
to SIAT in 2003-2005. The new aircraft are intended to replace old An-24s
currently operated by the company. Another agreement signed during the
salon was a call option for two An-140s with Buryatia Airlines based in
Ulan Ude. During SAKS-2002 the management of Kharkov State Aircraft Manufacturing
Company flew to Yakutsk, the Republic of Sakha, to demonstrate the performance
of serial An-140 at the cold pole. Yakutia government was satisfied with
An-140 performance under extreme weather conditions and announced that
the Republic of Sakha planned to buy several An-140 next year and would
set out a separate budget item for the purchase. Until the
end of the year Yakut customers and Kharkov aircraft manufacturers will
agree on the numbers and terms of delivery of the aircraft. The approximate
number mentioned during the prior negations is five An-140s.
Meanwhile the first serial An-140 currently operated by Odessa
Airlines flew in the opposite direction - to Canaries. The aircraft took
the volleyball team of the National Law Academy and their fans to the
Spanish island Tenerife where the European group tournament took place.
An-140 flew 10,000 km from Odessa to Naples - Morocco - Tenerife and back
over Europe, Mediterranean Sea, desert and Atlantic Ocean.
